SLC22A1 (solute carrier family 22 member 1), also called OCT1, is a 554 amino acid (aa), 70-80 kDa 12-transmembrane glycoprotein of the SLC22 family of polyspecific organic cation transporters (OCT). SLC22A1 is expressed in epithelial cells and some neurons, with detection on hepatocyte sinusoidal membranes and enterocyte basolateral membranes. It transports selected cations bidirectionally and is inhibited by non-transported cations. Human SLC22A1 shares 78% aa identity with mouse and rat SLC22A1. In humans, three inactive isoforms of 506, 483 and 353 aa, lack C-terminal exons 5, 5 and 6, or 3 and 6, respectively.

Scientific Data Images for Human SLC22A1 Antibody
Detection of Human SLC22A1 by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line. PVDF Membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Human SLC22A1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6469) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for SLC22A1 at approximately 80 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.Detection SLC22A1 in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Human SLC22A1 and eGFP by Flow Cytometry
HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with either (A) human SLC22A1 or (B) irrelevant protein and eGFP was stained with Mouse Anti-Human SLC22A1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6469) followed by Allophycocyanin-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (F0101B). Quadrant markers were set based on Mouse IgG2A control antibody (IC003). Staining was performed using our Staining Membrane-associated Proteins protocol.Applications for Human SLC22A1 Antibody
