Background: IL-24

Mouse IL-24, also known as melanoma differentiation-associated gene 7 (MDA-7) and Th2-specific cytokine FISP, is a 27 kDa secreted glycoprotein that is a member of the IL-10 family. It is synthesized as a precursor with a large pro-region that is removed to generate a 155 aa mature protein. Mature mouse IL-24 shares 84% and 69% amino acid identity with rat and human IL-24, respectively.
