Detection of Mouse RARRES1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of mouse spleen tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Mouse RARRES1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4657) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF019). A specific band was detected for RARRES1 at approximately 33 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 8.

RARRES1 (retinoic acid receptor responder 1; also Tig1) is a member of the protease inhibitor I47 family of proteins. It is expressed in epithelium, including keratinocytes, plus prostate and breast epithelium. It is considered to be a tumor-suppressor molecule, presumably acting as an inhibitor of carboxypeptidase A. Mouse RARRES1 is 283 amino acids (aa) in length. Based on human, it is a type II transmembrane (TM) protein with a TM segment at, or near, aa 75‑95. Over aa 42-283, mouse RARRES1 shares 85% and 74% aa identity with rat and human RARRES1, respectively.
