Background: Angiopoietin-like Protein 2/ANGPTL2

Angiopoietin-like 2, also known as Ang-related protein 2, is a secreted glycoprotein that is structurally related to angiopoietin. It does not bind the Tie-1 or Tie-2 receptors. Angiopoietin-like 2 induces sprouting but is not mitogenic in endothelial cells.
