Detection of Human Galectin‑14 by Western Blot.

Western blot shows lysates of human eosinophil. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human Galectin-14 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB5744) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for Galectin-14 at approximately 10 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Galectin-14

Galectin-14, also known as placental protein 13-like (PPL13), belongs the galectin family of carbohydrate binding proteins. It is expressed intracellularly in placenta and eosinophils and is released by eosinophils following allergen stimulation. Galectin-14 may be involved in the development of allergic inflammation.
