GRK5 in BJAB Human Cell Line. GRK5 was detected in immersion fixed BJAB human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line using Mouse Anti-Human GRK5 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB4539) at 25 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red; Catalog # NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm. G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs) are important modulators of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling. Receptor phosphorylation by specific GRKs plays a key role in triggering rapid desensitization. The GRK family consists of 7 isoforms that share a central catalytic domain with homology to other serine/threonine kinases. The catalytic domain is flanked by an amino-terminal RGS domain of 183‑188 amino acids and a carboxyl-terminus of variable length. GRK5 is a member of the GRK4 subfamily, and is expressed in a wide variety of tissues.
