|Detection of Human/Mouse ATF2 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, MCF‑7 human breast cancer cell line, and NIH‑3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human/Mouse ATF2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4455) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF109). A specific band was detected for ATF2 at approximately 80 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 3.|
ATF2 is a member of the bzip family of transcription factors. ATF2 responds to cAMP activation in cells by either homo or hetero dimerizing with c-Jun and binding to cAMP response elements (TGACGTCA). ATF2 also contains histone acetylase activity that can be induced by ionizing radiation. ATF2 can be phosphorylated by a variety of kinases (JNK, p38, ATM), and this phosphorylation correlates with increased activity.
