Bax in A549 Human Cell Line. Bax was detected in immersion fixed A549 human lung carcinoma cell line using Mouse Anti-Human/Mouse Bax Minus C-Terminus Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB883) at 8 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red; NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm. Background: Bax

Bax belongs to the Bcl2 protein family. It forms homodimers and heterodimers with Bcl2 and functions as an apoptotic activator. Bax interacts with the mitochondrial voltage dependent anion channel and promotes the release of cytochrome c.
