YY1 (Yin Yang 1) is a multifunctional transcription factor belonging to the GLI-Kruppel class of zing finger proteins. YY1 is essential for embryogenesis, apoptosis, differentiation, cell growth and proliferation. YY1 binds to the DNA consensus site CGCCATNTT. It can function as an initiator of transcription as well as activating or repressing transcription through protein complexes (e.g. histone deacetylases and histone acetyltransferases).

Scientific Data Images for Human/Mouse YY1 Antibody
Detection of Human and Mouse YY1 by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of U937 human histiocytic lymphoma cell line and C2C12 mouse myoblast cell line. Gels were loaded with 30 µg of U937 and 40 µg of C2C12 cytoplasmic (Cyto) extracts and 15 µg of U937 and 20 µg of C2C12 nuclear (Nuc) extracts. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human/Mouse YY1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB3784) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for YY1 at approximately 60-65 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.Applications for Human/Mouse YY1 Antibody
