Detection of Human PDK‑1 by Western Blot.

Western blot shows lysates of WS-1 human fetal skin fibroblast cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Rabbit Anti-Human PDK-1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF864) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rabbit IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF008). A specific band was detected for PDK-1 at approximately 49 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 4.

Background: PDK-1

PDK-1 (Phosphoinositide-dependent Kinase-1), also called PKB kinase and PDPK1, is a member of the AGC group of serine/threonine kinases. Following insulin, growth factor, or pervanadate stimulation, PDK-1 phosphorylates and activates kinases from the Akt, p70 S6K, and RSK families, and is therefore involved in the regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis.
