Detection of Human SOCS‑5 by Western Blot.

Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human SOCS-5 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4796) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF019). A specific band was detected for SOCS-5 at approximately 65 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 8.

SOCS-5 was detected in immersion fixed Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line using Goat Anti-Human SOCS-5 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4796) at 15 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (red; Catalog # NL001) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm. Background: SOCS-5

SOCS-5 (Suppressor of cytokine signaling 5; also CIS-6) is a 55‑60 kDa member of the SOCS family of proteins. It is an SH2-domain containing cytoplasmic adaptor protein expressed by Th1 cells that is known to reduce the expression of the EGF receptor and block signaling by the IL-4 R alpha chain. Human SOCS-5 is 536 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains one SH2 domain (aa 381‑476) and a SOCS box (aa 471‑520) that mediates interaction with E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes. Full-length SOCS-5 is 94% aa identical to mouse SOCS-5.
