Detects mouse CRELD1 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In Western blots, approximately 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant human CRELD1 is observed and less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse CRELD2 is observed.
CRELD1 in Mouse Embryo.
CRELD1 was detected in immersion fixed frozen sections of mouse embryo (E13.5) using Goat Anti-Mouse CRELD1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4116) at 10 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (red; Catalog # NL001) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to the developing heart and is shown at both low (lower panel) and high magnification (upper panel). CRELD1 (cysteine-rich with EGF-like domain protein 1) is an integral membrane protein that functions as a cell adhesion molecule. It is synthesized as a 420 amino acid (aa) precursor with an N-terminal signal peptide, a large extracellular domain (ECD) with two EGF-like repeats that flank two consecutive furin-like repeats, two‑transmembrane domains separated by one cytoplasmic residue, and a short extracellular C-terminal domain. CRELD1 null-mouse fails to develop a normal heart and missense mutations in human CRELD1 have also been associated with atrioventricular septal defects. The N-terminal ECD of mouse CRELD1 shares 97% and 92% aa sequence identity with the ECD of rat and human CRELD1, respectively.
