IL‑27 Inhibition of EMCV-induced Cytopathy and Neutralization by Mouse IL‑27 p28/IL‑30 Antibody.

Recombinant Mouse IL-27 (Catalog # 2799-ML) reduces the Encephalomyocarditis Virus (EMCV)-induced cytopathy in the HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line in a dose-dependent manner (orange line), as measured by Resazurin. Inhibition of EMCV activity elicited by Recombinant Mouse IL-27 (10 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concentrations of Goat Anti-Mouse IL-27 p28/IL-30 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF1834). The ND50 is typically 1-5 µg/mL.

Neutralization

Measured by its ability to neutralize IL‑27 inhibition of EMCV-induced cytopathy in the HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line. Bender, H. et al. (2009) Hepatology 50:585. The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 1-5 µg/mL in the presence of 10 ng/mL Recombinant Mouse IL‑27.

Background: IL-27 p28/IL-30

 IL-27 p28 subunit (also known as IL-30 and Interleukin-27 subunit alpha) is a 26 kDa glycoprotein. IL-27 is a heterodimeric cytokine consisting of the IL-27 p28 subunit that is an IL-12 p35 related protein and EBI3, which is related to IL-12 p40. The biological effects of IL-27 are mediated by the heteromeric receptor complex gp130 and TCCR/WSX-1.
