EAR2 (COUP TF-gamma, ERBAL2; NR2F6) is a member of the orphan nuclear receptor family. No ligand has been reported. Expression is detected in fetal liver, placenta, heart, muscle, and pancreas. No expression of EAR2 was detected in lung and brain tissue. Interaction of EAR2 with the transcription factor CBFA2 reveals a negative regulator of granulocyte differentiation. Knock out of EAR2 has been shown to affect forebrain clock and nociception in mice. EAR2 has also been shown to suppress transcription of luteinizing hormone receptor (LHR).
