Detect cotton rat IL‑2 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, approximately 20% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat IL-2 and recombinant mouse IL-2 is observed and less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-2 and recombinant porcine IL-2 is observed.
Polyclonal Goat IgG
E. coli-derived recombinant cotton rat IL‑2
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with Trehalose. *Small pack size (SP) is supplied as a 0.2 µm filtered solution in PBS.
<0.10 EU per 1 μg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Recombinant Cotton Rat IL‑2 (Cys146Tyr) (Catalog # 579-R2)
Measured by its ability to neutralize IL‑2-induced proliferation in the CTLL‑2 mouse cytotoxic T cell line. Gearing, A. J. H. and C. B. Bird (1987) in Lymphokines and Interferons, A Practical Approach. Clemens, M. J. et al. (eds): IRL Press. 276. The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 0.1-0.4 µg/mL in the presence of 1.5 ng/mL Recombinant Cotton Rat IL‑2 (Cys146Tyr).
Please Note: Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. General Protocols are available in the Technical Information section on our website.
Cell Proliferation Induced by IL‑2 and Neutralization by Cotton Rat IL‑2 Antibody. Recombinant Cotton Rat IL‑2 (Cys146Tyr) (Catalog # 579-R2) stimulates proliferation in the CTLL‑2 mouse cytotoxic T cell line in a dose-dependent manner (orange line). Proliferation elicited by Recombinant Cotton Rat IL‑2 (Cys146Tyr) (1.5 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concentrations of Goat Anti-Cotton Rat IL‑2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF579). The ND50 is typically 0.1-0.4 µg/mL.

IL-2 (Interleukin 2) is a critical cytokine in T cell biology. It promotes T cell activation and expansion, the development, maintenance and function of regulatory T cells (Treg), and the differentiation of CD8+ T cells into terminal effector cells and memory cells. IL-2 signals through a receptor complex composed of CD25/IL-2 R alpha, IL-2 R beta, and the Common gamma Chain (gamma c). IL-2 R beta is also a component of the IL-15 receptor complex. Gamma c is also a signaling subunit in the receptors for IL-4, -7, -9, -15, and -21.
The reconstitution calculator allows you to quickly calculate the volume of a reagent to reconstitute your vial. Simply enter the mass of reagent and the target concentration and the calculator will determine the rest.
