Background: EphA10

EphA10 is a member of the Eph family of receptor tyrosine kinases that are activated by binding members of the Ephrin ligand family. EphA10 preferentially binds Ephrin-A3, -A4 and -A5.  EphA10 mRNA expression appears limited to the testis, unlike most Ephs that are expressed in developing and adult neural tissue. Human EphA10 extracellular domain (ECD) shares 95% and 88% amino acid identity with mouse and rat EphA10, respectively. Of three alternately spliced isoforms, one is truncated within the ECD and another within the cytoplasmic domain.
