FosB/G0S3 in Human Pancreas. FosB/G0S3 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human pancreas array using Goat Anti-Human FosB/G0S3 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF2214) at 15 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Goat HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS008) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Lower panel shows a lack of labeling if primary antibodies are omitted and tissue is stained only with secondary antibody followed by incubation with detection reagents. FosB is a member of the Fos (Finkel Osteogenic Sarcoma) gene family. It is the product of an immediate early gene that heterodimerizes with Jun family members in the AP-1 transcription complex. FosB has two splice forms that are 52-kDa and 36-kDa in size. Each form contains an N-terminal transcription-activating domain and a leucine-zipper region that allows for heterodimerization. The short form lacks a C-terminal transcription-activating domain that is necessary for gene activation.
