Human tissue Kallikrein 7 (hK7), also known as stratum corneum chymotryptic enzyme (SCCE), is a member of the human tissue kallikrein family. Full-length Kallikrein 7 consists of 253 amino acids (aa), with a signal peptide (aa 1-22), short pro peptide (aa 23-29) and mature chain (aa 30-252) (1). Predominantly expressed in the skin, a major physiological function of Kallikrein 7 is to regulate the desquamation process through proteolysis of the intercellular adhesive structures between corneocytes (2). Thus, it is related to some inflammatory skin diseases, such as psoriasis and chronic itchy dermatitis (3, 4). Studies have shown that one potential physiological activator for Kallikrein 7 is Kallikrein 5, another member of the human tissue Kallikrein family. Along with Kallikrein 14, these three Kallikreins form a proteolytic cascade in the stratum corneum (5).

Scientific Data Images for Human Kallikrein 7 Antibody
Human Kallikrein 7 ELISA Standard Curve.
Recombinant Human Kallikrein 7 protein was serially diluted 2-fold and captured by Mouse Anti-Human Kallikrein 7 Monoclonal Antibody (MAB26241) coated on a Clear Polystyrene Microplate (Catalog # DY990). Mouse Anti-Human Kallikrein 7 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB26242) was biotinylated and incubated with the protein captured on the plate. Detection of the standard curve was achieved by incubating Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998) followed by Substrate Solution (Catalog # DY999) and stopping the enzymatic reaction with Stop Solution (Catalog # DY994).
