Recombinant Human IL-11 (Catalog # 218-IL) stimulates proliferation in the T11 mouse plasmacytoma cell line in a dose-dependent manner (orange line). Proliferation elicited by Recombinant Human IL-11 (1 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concen-trations of Mouse Anti-Human IL-11 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB218). The ND50 is typically ≤ 8 µg/mL.

Background: IL-11

Interleukin-11 (IL-11) is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by stromal cells. It binds to a dimeric receptor complex consisting of the IL-11 Ra chain and the gp130 chain shared by the receptors for the IL-6 cytokine family. IL-11 has multiple effects on hematopoietic cells and osteoblasts.
