Applications

Recommended Concentration
Sample
Western Blot
1 µg/mL
Recombinant Human MSP  beta Chain (Catalog # 635-MS) under non-reducing conditions only
Blockade of Receptor-ligand Interaction
In a functional ELISA, 0.01-0.05 µg/mL of this antibody will block 50% of the binding of 5 ng/mL of Recombinant Human MSP (Catalog # 4306-MS) to immobilized Recombinant Human MSP R (Catalog # 1947-MS) coated at 1 μg/mL (100 µL/well). At 1 µg/mL, this antibody will block >90% of the binding.

Please Note: Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. General Protocols are available in the Technical Information section on our website.

Background: MSP/MST1

MSP, also known as hepatocyte growth factor-like protein (HGFl), and scatter factor-2 (SF2), is a member of the HGF family of growth factors. It is secreted as a single chain inactive precursor which is proteolytically activated to yield a biologically active disulfide-linked heterodimer of the alpha and beta chains. MSP induces keratinocyte proliferation, bone resorption, and cell migration and shape change in resident macrophages. Heterodimeric MSP binds to and activates the cell surface receptor tyrosine kinase, RON/STK, which is expressed on mature macrophages, keratinocytes, and vascular endothelium of wounded skin.
