Human N-Terminal Pro-BNP Antibody Summary
His27-His134
Accession # P16860
Applications
This antibody functions as an ELISA captureantibody when paired with Rabbit Anti-Human N-terminal Pro-BNP Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB36042).
This antibody functions as an ELISA detection antibody when paired with Mouse Anti-Human N-Terminal Pro- BNP Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB9769).
This product is intended for assay development onvarious assay platforms requiring antibody pairs. We recommend the Human NT Pro-BNP DuoSet ELISA Kit (Catalog # DY3604-05)for convenient development of a sandwich ELISA.
Please Note: Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. General Protocols are available in the Technical Information section on our website.
Data Examples

Human NT Pro-BNP ELISA Standard Curve. Recombinant human Pro-BNP protein was serially diluted 2-fold and captured by Mouse Anti-Human N-Terminal Pro-BNP Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB9538) coated on a Clear Polystyrene Microplate (Catalog # DY990). Rabbit Anti-Human N-Terminal Pro-BNP Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB36042) was biotinylated and incubated with the protein captured on the plate. Detection of the standard curve was achieved by incubating Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998) followed by Substrate Solution (Catalog # DY999) and stopping the enzymatic reaction with Stop Solution (Catalog # DY994).

Background: BNP
Brain-type Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) is a nonglycosylated peptide that is produced predominantly by ventricular myocytes and belongs to the natriuretic peptide family. Proteolytic cleavage of the 12 kDa BNP precursor gives rise to N-terminal Pro‑BNP (NT-proBNP) and mature BNP. Plasma NT-proBNP is a marker for congestive heart failure, while mature BNP (aa 103‑134) promotes vasodilation and fluid and sodium excretion. Human BNP precursor shares 29% and 51% aa sequence identity with mouse and porcine BNP precursor, respectively.
