Overview of Immune, Peptide, and Other Receptors on Resting Platelets
Platelet activation can be accelerated by growth factors, immunoglobulin complexes, microbial components, peptide hormones, and thrombin. These and other ligands promote platelet activation through the chemokine, growth factor, C-type lectin, PAR, TLR, complement, and SLAM receptor families. Activation through these receptors contributes to platelet adhesion and enhances coagulation and inflammatory activation.
