Dkk-1 (Dickkopf related protein 1) is a secreted antagonist of Wnt/beta-Catenin signaling. It interacts with LRP-6, and internalized complexes of Dkk-1/LRP-6/Kremen 2 can downregulate Wnt signaling. The balance between Wnt signaling and Dkk-1 inhibition is critical for bone formation and homeostasis. In addition, Dkk-1 can act as either a tumor suppressor or promoter of metastasis.

Dkk‑1 in Human Colon.
Dkk-1 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human colon using Human Dkk-1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB10962) at 15 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # CTS013). Tissue was stained using the Anti-Mouse HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS002). Specific staining was localized to epithelial cells.
